June 21-July 4

We had some amazing friends come and visit us from Colorado! Holly and Maddie spent time with us on Orbit and exploring the islands, shopping, and enjoying peach margaritas! We snorkeled and saw lots of turtles, which I have become very fond of.

After our friends left we took a break and got caught up on cleaning the boat and much needed rest. We are leaving soon for Grenada and are doing final preparations for the three day passage.

July 4th was a little different this year. Due to Covid, the VI did not have any firework displays, so we watched the sunset, enjoyed music, and of course a few beverages for the adults and water for the kids! We explored a new part of St. John called Water Lemon. We looked at the ruins and took the dogs for some exploring. We snorkeled and saw so many amazing fish of all colors. I happened to be in the back of the group and looked over and saw a nurse shark coming towards. After a brief moment of panic, I swam to get everyone to look. The shark had no interest in us at all, but what an amazing sight and experience!

Since bread does not last long on a boat, Jay bought a bread maker. We have dubbed it Sure Mix-A- Lot, and the results of the bread maker did not disappoint…. Let’s just say “Baby Got Back” ! After the laughing stopped we finally tried it out and it was delicious!

A little boat humor!

Nic and Cali finished school and now have summer break until August. We plan to enroll in school in Grenada for the cultural experience! More to come about this as we get to Grenada.
